About Last Kind Standing

Last Kind Standing is an indie sci-fi cartoon project being worked on by luvbird357. My goal is to turn this project into an animated series, hopefully to be aired on YouTube someday.

More media formats for this project are up in the air, too - perhaps some small webcomics, games, etc... Not too sure yet, though. I'm prioritizing learning about what is needed to produce a cartoon in the first place, and I'm also waiting until I'm in a stable enough environment to garner a fanbase (and thus funding) for the project itself.

But for now, I hope you can enjoy what's here so far! I'd be grateful that you're even reading this.

The Story

In Last Kind Standing, a mysterious event known only as the Galactic Dying is wiping out entire species left and right. Panic is spreading like wildfire, and the surviving civilizations grow ever more distant from eachother, hoping to save their legacies before they're next.

Our protagonists, Hiro the Prusathian and Avio the Crevolan are no exception. As the last members of their species, and ones having their kind taken by the Galactic Dying, they steal, hoard, and overpricedly sell magical relics, to gather wealth and, hopefully, get ahead of extinction. That plan goes sideways when they crash-land on the remote planet Ataraxia, being dragged by a tall, terrifying insect-like android to the bunker of Madouk, a tech-inventing Dynamunculus.

With their ship ruined, and Medusoid, the Insectroid moments from vaporizing them, the duo begs for mercy. They're spared - but only on the condition that they become Madouk's errand runners, gathering scrap, scouting planets, and uncovering data from the ruins of dying worlds, with Medusoid as their reluctant assistant.

Finally, Hiro and Avio finally have a decent shelter, and they don't have to live a life of scalping anymore. Their new found family, although odd, is one that they quickly grow close with... But The Galactic Dying is still spreading outside their little bubble, and its reach is beginning to creep unnervingly close. The two share growing concerns that it'll take this away, too... Maybe they should try and figure out what's even going on, if they can muster up the bravery to do so.

The Creator

luvbird357 is an artist who creates for fun and experimentation, as well as to push the limits of what one can do without a company to support them. It's also just fun to make stuff, did i mention it's fun? We should all make more stuff and try our hardest to make it well. It's really fun to experiment!! Do not be afraid!!! Yeah!!!!!
