King Kenopsia - known to only a handful of sophonts as Lucent Tosdach - is the silent puppeteer of the Galactic Dying. As the ruler of a massive hivemind empire, he travels the galaxy, invading and taking over entire worlds. Species that resist are killed in their entirety with no hesitation, while those that surrender are absorbed into the hivemind, forced to spread Lucent's cause. While this all happens, Lucent sits back in his secret hideout, causing mass extinctions without lifting a finger, all so he can claim the galaxy as his own.

Lucent has always saw himself as superior, ever since he was a kid squashing bugs for fun. As a young adult, he hid his cruelty well enough to keep a few unsuspecting friends - ordinary people unaware of his true self... though eventually, he grew tired of playing nice, and absorbed those friends into his hivemind, or killed them outright. Now, Lucent never speaks directly to anyone outside his empire. Instead, Lucent speaks and acts through assimilated sophonts from the empires he's conquered - emperors, celebrities, even a reporter who once covered the Galactic Dying. They serve as disposable vessels, used to gather data, wage war, and cover his tracks, making sure that Lucent's true identity stays hidden from anyone who might seek to stop him.
