Last Kind Standing is a sci‑fi cartoon project currently in development. It’s planned as an online animated series, with the goal of either partnering with an indie studio or being produced independently if enough support is gathered.

The show is planned to be animated with 2D cutout-style animation, and it will use a hybrid storytelling approach - alternating between episodic and serialized approaches, gradually becoming more serialized as the show goes on.

The story follows two alien misfits - Hiro the Prusathian and Avio the Crevolan - best friends and the last survivors of their respective species. A mysterious phenomenon known as the Galactic Dying has been sweeping across the stars, wiping out entire civilizations left and right. Panic is spreading, alliances are crumbling, and the remaining species grow ever more distant and hostile with eachother, desperate to preserve what legacies they have left.

Hiro and Avio make their living picking through the ruins of abandoned worlds, collecting relics and reselling them at inflated prices. That all goes out the window when they crash‑land on the seemingly barren desert planet Oditomaia‑4C. Injured and stranded, they follow the only sign of life - an swarm of insect-like robots - which leads them deep into an underground bunker. There, they’re spotted by a larger, more intimidating, equally insectoid robot, and are dragged to its creator: Madouk, a Dynamunculan inventor who has claimed the planet as her own, renaming it Ataraxia. Now, they were on her turf.

With no other option, the pair beg for mercy. Madouk spares them - but only if they agree to become her errand runners, gathering materials and scouting planets. Despite being literally cornered into the deal, it’s still the best opportunity they’ve ever had - especially with the added bonus of a free, if reluctant, robotic guardian. Monarchoid accompanies them on every mission as punishment for her own past behavior, having been deemed far too rowdy and trigger‑happy for her former role as a simple scout.

But venturing so close to the Galactic Dying awakens a shared curiosity in the team, especially as its reach creeps closer to Ataraxia. The trio begins secretly investigating its cause while still completing their missions. Upon finding out they’ve been risking themselves to investigate, Madouk is furious at first, but quickly succumbs to her own curiosity, and so she joins the search.

Together, they conspire that something - or someone -is behind the Galactic Dying… even if uncovering the truth might kill them.
